Lambro landed the Grade 2 Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse in a thrilling finish staying on late to win by a short head for the Byerley Thoroughbred Racing Syndicate. Lambro was purchased by Willlie Codd for €12,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale in 2008 and he always held him in very high regard. On his first start in a point to point Lambro was very unlucky having to be pulled up after been forced inside a marker on the last bend when looking like the winner. Peter & Ross Doyle Bloodstock Ltd then brokered a deal on behalf of Charles Lee and Byerley Thoroughbred Racing Syndicate to purchase Lambro. He was subsequently transferred to the stable of Champion National Hunt Trainer Willie Mullins and under his care he has won three races from only five starts and never finished outside the first three. He is a very exciting horse and looks to have a big future.
