Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale continues to be the leading National Hunt Store Sale anywhere in the world, and 2024 marked the 50th anniversary of the sale. As a select sale, our inspectors handpick the best individuals with pedigrees to match, resulting in a catalogue that is supreme in quality. The sale produced the highest price Store sold at any Store Sale, as a son of Doctor Dino was purchased for €350,000. The 2024 edition also saw 25 lots surpassing €100,000, more than any other Store Sale.
The spring festivals at Cheltenham, Aintree and Punchestown regularly produce Grade 1 winning graduates from the prestigious Derby Sale. It provides buyers with the best opportunity to buy their future champion. Grade 1 winning graduates during the 2023/2024 National Hunt season included Gerri Colombe, Jonbon, Brighterdaysahead and Grey Dawning. Other high profile graduates of the Derby Sale sale include dual two-mile Queen Mother Champion Chase winner Energumene, and dual Champion Hurdle winner Honeysuckle.
