The September Yearling Sale has experienced continuous growth year on year, and is now firmly established as one of Europe’s leading yearling sales. The profile of the sale has been elevated after three graduates struck in Group 1 company at Royal Ascot. Docklands has been a superb flagship horse for the sale, and his Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes victory set the tone for what was a remarkable run of top level graduate success.
Time For Sandals won the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup, returning to her high class juvenile form, and provided trainer Harry Eustace with a memorable Group 1 double. Finally, Cercene rounded off a memorable week to provide Joe Murphy, whose Crampscastle Bloodstock purchased the filly for €50,000 in 2023, with a first Group 1 winner in the Coronation Stakes. Caballo De Mar added a fourth Group 1 for the sale as he landed the Prix du Cadran for trainer George Scott and owners Victorious Racing.
Other graduates of the sale include Group 3 Priory Belle Stakes winner A Lilac Rolla, Group 3 Jannah Rose Stakes winner Sea The Boss and Group 1 Prix Jean Romanet runner up American Sonja. Graduates to strike at stakes level in 2024 included Group 3 Fred Darling Stakes winner Folgaria, Listed Platinum Stakes winner Super Sox, and Group 2 Prix du Gros-Chene winner Ponntos.
The sale remains a leading source of two-year-old winners, with the 2024 edition having produced 88 individual winners across a number of racing jurisdictions.
All yearlings sold in 2026 are eligible for the €250,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes held at the 2027 Irish Champions Festival. Purchasers are reminded that in order to make their new acquisition eligible, they must opt in when signing the purchase confirmation form.
The vendor of the winning horse in the €250,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes will receive an Overlander R240 horsebox for one year.
