Lexington Times won the Listed Spring Cup by a cosy neck victory on Saturday at Lingfield under Richard Hughes, for his trainer Richard Hannon and winning owners Middleham Park Racing. Richard Hannon said “Lexington Times was emulating his sire, Paco Boy, who also won this race, and the pair are not dissimilar. It was his first time on the surface and he handled it well, so he’ll go back there for the £150,000 32Red All-Weather Final on Good Friday. Lexington Times has filled out through the winter and is now a more mature individual, and if he gets the extra furlong on April 3 then the owners (Middleham Park Racing) will be keen to have a crack at the 2000 Guineas.” Lexington Times was purchased by Peter & Ross Doyle Bloodstock Ltd for €60,000 at Goffs Orby Yearling Sale in 2013 from Baroda & Colbinstown Studs.
