Yafta won the Group 3 Hackwood Stakes on Saturday at Newbury for his owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum, trainer Richard Hannon and jockey Jim Crowley. The son of Dark Angel has been a very consistent horse throughout his career, having never finished out of the first four. He ran a very gallant second last time out in the Group 3 Chipchase Stakes, so it was great to see him gain his first blacktype victory back in Group 3 company. Yafta was purchased by Peter and Ross Doyle Bloodstock for £280,000 at Goffs UK Premier Sale in 2016 from Highclere Stud.
