September Yearling Sale Part II provides a commercial opportunity and gives both vendors and purchasers access to an alternative and competitive marketplace for yearlings.
Where Part I of the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale leads, Part II shall follow. After record-breaking returns in Part I, the one-day Part II session produced more of the same with a record average of €10,473, an eight per cent increase on 2021, and an €8,000 joint-record median, an improvement of 12 per cent on last year.
Horses sold at an impressive clearance rate of 82 per cent and day’s turnover concluded at €963,500, which was a 42 per cent increase on 2021’s aggregate.
The session was topped by a Dark Angel filly (Lot 527) consigned by Ringfort Stud. She is a half-sister to the three-time Group 1 winner Hunter’s Light and was bought by Joe Foley for €52,000. It is the highest price given at the sale since 2017.
